About the event
Sue Ferrers plays the hauntingly beautiful and rare Swedish nyckelharpa, or keyed-fiddle, an instrument dating back to the Middle Ages. he learned and honed the craft of playing nyckelharpa while living in Germany where she worked as a freelance musician, playing everything from intimate concerts in church settings to Gothic Rock in sold-out stadiums.
Sue is currently based on the Gold Coast and recently released an her first single on Spotify, a tune about Vittra“ (Lady of the Woods) composed by Emelius Lundberg, for which she is a finalist in the World Music section of the 2024 Queensland Music Awards, to be presented in Brisbane in April.
And, she's also a finalist in the Folk Music Award in the  Instrumentalist of the Year category.
Sue is delighted to be collaborating with the Westside Orchestra for this truly unique concert.
